Description

The Assembler I performs assembly of mechanical, electrical & shipping assemblies that meet customer, quality and Engineering specifications. This position also operates other equipment such as hand tools, power tools, fork-lift or other machines. The Assembler I will always practice safety in the highest regard.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Follows drawings, electrical/pneumatic schematics, work instructions, job documentation and verbal instructions to ensure proper assembly of components.
  • Prepares fabrications for assembly by drilling, tapping and cleaning.
  • Monitors the job quality by ensuring parts are properly assembled; Communicates problems and concerns when detected.
  • Operates all machines associated with the assembly process with minimal help or assistance.
  • Maintains records, checklists and logbooks on equipment, including but not limited to the documentation of QC testing and maintenance.
  • Prepares proper shipping conveyances to ensure units are arranged for delivery.
  • Participate and/or lead Operational Excellence, Lean, and other process improvement measures.

ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Cleans and maintains work area utilizing 5S and other tools.
  • Operates and maintains fork-lift.
  • Adheres to plant and corporate safety policies and participates in required training sessions.
  • May assist the Technical Support Specialist.
  • May assist in other areas or perform other duties as required by fluctuating business needs.

EDUCATION, CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); proven mechanical ability and/or previous machine operator experience.

BASIC SKILLS:

  • Ability to read, write, speak, and follow written or verbal instructions in English.
  • Capacity to properly use and read measurements on tools involved in the assembly process.
  • High degree of manual dexterity and hand-to-eye coordination.
  • Familiarity with electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Working understanding of computers preferred
  • Knowledge of electronics preferred
  • Familiarity of pneumatics preferred
