As a Financial Consultant within Optum Health, you'll work with an elite team of finance and accounting professionals who are writing the history of our organization and guiding our success as a global industry leader. This role will communicate and work directly with senior leadership. That's a lot of responsibility, but you will have the support and resources of a Fortune 5 industry leader behind you every step of the way.

The Financial Consultant is primarily responsible for forecasting and budgeting, but will also support financial analytics, planning, and reporting in support of our care delivery organization.

You'll enjoy the flexibility to work remotely from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Lead the forecasting and budgeting process for a multi-specialty, multi-site provider group across Indiana and Ohio.
  • Capital budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and analysis.
  • Partner with senior and departmental leaders to identify areas of opportunity to improve financial management.
  • Perform in-depth ad hoc analysis, providing senior finance leadership with key insights for decision making.
  • Interface with business leaders and build relationships in support of financial planning and performance measurement, including reporting and analysis.
  • Assist in managing business relationships on behalf of the broader Finance organization and Leadership.
  • Leverage technology and carry out process improvement activities.

Required Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of relevant financial analysis or accounting experience
  • Advanced skills in MS Excel, MS Office product suite, and other technology tools
  • Progressive financial work experience
  • Solid working knowledge of financial systems, statements, and reports
  • Ability to work in a matrix environment while positively influencing other functional areas
  • Ability to work a standard Eastern Time schedule

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • MBA or CPA
  • Healthcare experience
  • Planful, Hyperion Essbase, and/or Power BI, and/or Tableau
  • Coding experience with SQL and/or VBA
  • Project management or process improvement experience
  • Proven advanced analytical skills
  • Solid Curiosity - our strongest and best are full of business curiosity
  • Solid attention to detail and accuracy

California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island, or Washington Residents Only: The salary range for this role is $70,200 to $137,800 annually. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
