JOB SUMMARY

Provide supervision and assistance for a team that will perform a variety of work in the general maintenance and repair of buildings, facilities, and grounds.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Performs a variety of work in the maintenance and repair of buildings and grounds at various facilities/sites:

* Inspect and maintain buildings and systems (heating, ventilation etc.)

* Contribute to the development of maintenance budget and ensure compliance

* Monitor inventory of materials and equipment

* Participate in coordination of projects (e.g. renovations)

* Ensure adherence to SQF standards and safety regulations

* Including Facility Maintenance Tier 1 duties

Other:

* Conduct the daily, weekly, monthly inspection of fire system according to state code

* Be the first contact for Stanley security after hours

* Lead projects pertaining to the building and grounds

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • High School Diploma, General Educational Development Diploma (GED) or equivalent experience
  • 4 years' cumulative experience desired

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Working knowledge of metal buildings, residential stick built buildings & their systems.

a. Carpentry - rough & trim carpentry, doors, windows, walls, shingles & flashing

b. Metal Work - siding & roofs

c. Electrical - basic electrical service, adjust time switches

d. Plumbing - installation & repairs

e. HVAC - maintenance & troubleshooting

f. Masonry - installation & repairs

g. Painting - preparation & application

h. Grounds - maintenance & repairs, snow removal equipment use & maintenance

i. Chemical Handling - safe handling of chemicals to protect personnel & the environment

* Demonstrates the ability to work efficiently, effectively and safely at all times with minimal supervision.

* Possession of a valid Indiana driver's license with a clean driving record.

* Effectively use a variety of hand and power tools; operate a forklift; read blueprints; review and identify projects needed to be serviced by outside contractors; follow oral and/or written instructions; communicate effectively in both oral and written form; maintain work logs; establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work assignments.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Direct: Overseeing a crew of 1 Tier 1 facility maintenance employee, up to 5 seasonal employees in the repair, inspection or installation of facility assets and 1 part-time electrician.

* Inspecting facilities periodically to determine problems and necessary maintenance

* Preparing weekly maintenance schedules and allocate work

* Work in conjunction with the maintenance planner, scheduler and purchaser

* Work directly with contractors to:

- Scope and plan jobs

- Obtain quotes

- Schedule jobs

- Manage contractors

- Inspect job at completion

* Supervising and training facility maintenance technicians

- Fork truck operation

- Aerial lift operation

- Tractor operation

- Fire system controls & inspections

- Write and/or assign daily work orders

o The employee may occasionally have to climb ladders and be exposed to heights (i.e.: rooftop)

o The employee may occasionally lift/carry items as heavy as 60 pounds

o The employee must be able to work outside in various weather conditions (i.e.: rain, snow, heat)

* Responsible for monitoring, record keeping and taking appropriate actions for specific Food Safety Plan and Food Quality Plan and pre requisite program requirements

* Responsible to report food safety and quality issues to management
