GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB:

The Production Scheduler creates a production plan, develops and manages the execution of production schedule, manages MRP material demand to support the production plan, and coordinates production jobs to support the production plan. This position will ensure production and material planning is in place to support the customers and goals of the site.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Works with all departments and customers to meet delivery expectations and formulates plans to improve efficiency.

* Creates job packets for warehouse and manufacturing fulfillment based on customer orders.

* Creates & implements a production plan that will support sales forecasts.

* Creates & implements an attainable production schedule that will support the production plan, optimize or eliminate bottlenecks, support SCS customers and the goals of the site.

* Reviews and expedites material issues affecting production schedules including all supplies and purchased product used on customer orders.

* Reviews, implements and manages Engineering Change Orders (ECO) that affect production plans, production schedules and/or Syteline production jobs.

* Reviews and takes appropriate action of MRP exception messages in order to prevent impacts to the production schedule.

* Acts as a liaison between Production, Purchasing, Engineering and Inventory Control to insure that production schedules and delivery dates are met.

* Suggests changes in working conditions or processes to increase efficiency of department and work force.

* Identifies downtime and formulates improvement plans.

* Prepares costing analysis of jobs to ensure margin performance is maintained and improved

* Manages inventory to reduce operating costs and improve customer satisfaction.

* Manages transfer and service order demands in the MRP system, and communicates to internal customers pertinent information as it applies to the completion of these orders. (Equipment only)

* Reviews key performance indicators (KPI's) for manufacturing and report results as specified. (Equipment only)

* Coordinates the changes to product documentation and ensures production and warehouse transactions are completed accurately in ERP/MRP. (Equipment only)

* May enter labor and order transactions for job orders.

ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Assists in the physical inventory counts.

* Identifies, organizes, plans and provides training if/when needed (safety training, vacation, drills, etc.)

* Abides by company policies and uses safe work practices in performing job responsibilities.

* Participates in Operations Excellence and/or Continuous Improvement teams as feasible.

* Support development projects-data gathering, organizing and reporting.

* Assists in other areas as needed.

EDUCATION, CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor degree in related field with 2+ years of production scheduling experience or high school diploma or GED with 5 + years of production planning and scheduling experience in a job shop or semi-repetitive job shop. APICS/CPIM certification is preferred, but not required.

BASIC SKILLS:

* Demonstrates proficiency in utilizing ERP software.

* Possesses well-developed communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.

* Proficiency in Microsoft Office products.

* Ability to manage multiple priorities and must be able to interact with individuals at all levels within the organization, as well as customers.

* Ability to read, write and follow written or verbal instructions.

* Speaks, reads and writes English.

* Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision.

* Possesses exceptional customer service skills.
