CDW Government is seeking a talented individual to lead our team of highly talented security engineers, as a Security Practice Manager. This includes four different components;
- Setting up technology vision for the security practice
- Sales enablement
- Relationship building with other partners/Customers (trusted advisor)
- Lead pre sales initiatives (100% customer success)
This strategic, performance-driven candidate should have 10 plus years of industry experience in consulting services and/or sales support in IT Security competency. This candidate must be a recognized thought leader who is known for his/her ability to clearly understand, define and articulate customer business needs to match with the solutions. Key Areas of Responsibility
As the Manager, Security Practice you will report to the Director of Infrastructure Solutions and be responsible for technical Pre-Sales Consulting, leading a team of highly talented security engineers, setting up technology vision for the security practice and building relationships with our partners and customers.
Your specific duties as a Manager, Security Practice will include:
- Providing thought leadership and innovation to develop the strategy, vision and intellectual assets to meet the objective of the consulting practice.
- Fostering long-term relationships with customers and partners.
- Managing and leading large customer opportunities, solution design and proposal activities.
- Responsible for developing Go to Market strategy and unique value proposition for Security products and services portfolio
- Establish CDW-G as the recognized leader in providing best in class "after sale" efforts to our customers for security solutions.
- Pursuing and participating in teaming opportunities in both public sector and commercial organizations
- Supporting marketing initiatives and demand generation activities to drive growth.
- Aggressively work with sales to raise awareness of security practice GTM strategy and offerings
- Develop, implement, and measure strategic initiatives to improve service excellence and maximize profitability
- Provide guidance, mentorship, and overall departmental leadership to all direct reports
- Partner with other departments to drive the overall success of the security practice
- With the support of senior leadership, optimize existing team to maintain high team efficiency and delivery capabilities for new technologies.
Education and/or Experience Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent related experience
- Minimum 10 years IT experience
- Significant industry experience in leading business growth & ability to execute on a strategy
- Effective team/relationship building experience
Required Qualifications
- Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a US Government clearance
- Must be ready for travel as required. Typical travel is 25%
- Must be technically sound in a broad base of current security products and overall trends in security. Previous experience with IT Security such as SOAR, SASE, Firewalls, and IDS/IPS
- Proven ability to provide strategic and operating direction for IT security with particular focus towards the Federal Market
- Can identify and articulate risk analysis and mitigating strategies and options aligned with business objectives
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to develop and sustain long term relationships
- Strong verbal, written, and presentation skills regarding highly technical topics.
- Strong rapport and relationship building skills with both internal departments and external customers
- Strong leadership ability and coaching experience
- Ability to take a creative approach to situations and problem solving. Strong follow-up, owning issues until resolved
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in Federal presales efforts and contract vehicles
- Active DoD Secret security clearance
- Previous sales experience in technology sales, especially in IT Services, selling to and working with C-level management
- Security certifications such as CCIE Security, CCNP Security, CCSP Security, and CISSP
- Previous Consulting Experience
