Job Description

POSITION OVERVIEW

dormakaba is seeking a Mechanical Test Technician based in our Indianapolis, IN manufacturing facility. The Mechanical Test technician will be part of our product development organization and will assist in performing mechanical testing, for both domestic and international certifications of door hardware related products. In addition, the technician will report on door hardware compliance and Research & Development testing to help drive projects to successfully meet goals.

HIRING SALARY RANGE: $55,000-$65,000 (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.) Please visit our career site for more information on benefits.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Set up, adjust, and operate Mechanical & Electronic Testing Equipment
  • Test door hardware and other products to applicable standards
  • Perform complex tests according to prescribed procedures, record test results on standardized forms, and write test reports describing procedures used.
  • Maintain and manage test documentation, including test reports, procedures, purchase orders and calibration records
  • Operate and maintain equipment such as gauges and other testing supplies.
  • Design and fabricate testing fixtures and tools

WHAT WE REQUIRE

  • 2-year technical certificationor high school diploma with equivalent experience in a technical/mechnicalfield
  • Experience in testing or troubleshooting in a mechanical field
  • Intermediate knowledge of using hand & power tools and machinery equipment
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail

WHAT WE PREFER

  • Testing Laboratory experience
  • Knowledge of laboratory equipment, instrumentation, safety procedures and good manufacturing practices
  • Experience with Pneumatic and hydraulic control systems as well as electronic programming.
  • Knowledge of ANSI/BHMA standards
  • Knowledge of ASTM and UL testing procedures
  • Knowledge of machining, 3D Printing processes
