PURPOSE:

The Operator will coordinate with various members of the Calumet team to ensure that daily production schedules are safely met, and shipping orders are filled. This position will be expected to operate equipment in the slabbing and blending areas and support shipping operations on an as needed basis.

KEY OBJECTIVES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work safely and ensure no spills adversely impact the plant grounds or surrounding waterways
  • Ensure work areas are kept clean and organized
  • Create blend products to specification using the correct blend formulas and operating blending equipment
  • Make and package slab wax products
  • Operate forklifts in a safe and responsible manner
  • Load / unload trucks and rails cars
  • Use computer software to log order fulfillment acknowledgements
  • Routinely lift 50 pound material sacks

REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCES:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Work safely in a light manufacturing environment
  • Safely operate a forklift

PREFERRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCES:

  • Previous experience in light manufacturing or construction
  • Proficient computer skills with demonstrated experience in Microsoft Office -Excel, Word, and Outlook

  • Good organizational skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
  • Cooperates and works well with others in either one-on-one or group situations
  • Ability to make good decisions using sound judgement within a short timeframe
  • Excellent multitasking skills
  • Show potential to provide back-up support to the Site when the Production Manager is absent
  • Demonstration of Calumet Values - Safety, Environment & Social Responsibility, Teamwork, Ownership, Passion for Customers, and Excellence

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Physical lifting, pushing, and pulling of 50 or more pounds
  • Climb ladders on tanks, truck trailers, and rail cars
