Starkey is adding a Shipping Associate II. This position is responsible for accurate and timely domestic and international shipments leaving the Starkey Global Distribution Center (GDC) in Plainfield, IN. All safety and standard operating procedures are to be used to complete tasks. In addition, this position will be responsible for invoice and packaging accuracy.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES/RESULTS


* Ensure all items are shipped to domestic and international customers on-time and according to standard
operating procedures & customer specifications.
o Set up work area.
o Add shipping materials to orders, per Shipping Matrix instruction.
o Build protective packaging.
o Verify shipment account number, part number(s), quantities, and special delivery instructions.
o Validate shipment quality.
o Use computer to invoice Oracle.
o Place shipping packages into bins and/or onto pallets(use shrink wrap machine, if applicable).
* Perform ad hoc Warehouse duties.
o Perform and follow-up on all safety procedures.
o Maintain a clean and organized storage space.
o Request shipping supplies and materials for internal use.
o Follow up on internal inefficiencies and implement improvements.
* Cross-train in invoicing and packaging for both international and domestic departments.
* Other duties/responsibilities as assigned

JOB REQUIREMENTS
* Education
o High school diploma or equivalent desired
* Experience (i.e., years of work experience related to the job)
o Previous shipping/receiving experience required
Knowledge / Technical Requirements (List programs, technologies, knowledge required to perform essential job
responsibilities)
* Read and understand numbers and written instructions.
* Microsoft office knowledge desired.

* Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

WORK CONTEXT
Working Conditions (i.e., standard office conditions, sitting, lifting, etc.)
* Standard warehouse conditions(temperature-controlled environment)
* Regular attendance and responsiveness to reasonable job-related directives as given by the Supervisor
* Stand and move around throughout the day, as required
* Occasionally come into contact with hazardous materials
Equipment Operation (i.e., standard office equipment, etc.)
* Standard office and warehouse equipment; e-mail, scan and copier machine, tape guns, cutters, cardboard baler,
step ladder, pallet jack, label printers, scanners, scales, carrier shipping system, and shrink wrap.
