We have an exciting opportunity at Rolls Royce as a Senior Tax Manager. As the Senior Federal Tax Manager, you will provide vital support to the Global tax team and our businesses in the delivery of day-to-day tax activities and you will be responsible for assigned Advisory, Compliance, Tax Controversy, Tax Accounting and Budgeting requirements.

This role requires an experienced professional, who not only brings excellent technical credentials in the areas of federal and state income tax compliance; but is also adept at partnering with business partners as well as managing risks and tax controversies.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Advisory - support our domestic and global businesses on US domestic tax matters with a focus on simplicity and collaboration. Obtain and interpret complex information from a variety of sources. Make judgments to resolve issues and provide recommendations.
  • Compliance - prepare/manage federal income tax return data. Manage tax consultants and employees outside of the tax department who provide return preparation assistance and required information. Manage state income tax obligations as assigned.
  • Tax Controversies - manage assigned audits and notices.
  • Tax strategy - manage assigned federal and state tax projects to achieve the Group's strategic objectives.
  • Accounting - manage assigned calculations of federal and state tax for ASC 740 reporting and budgeting.
  • Software Skills - proficient in the use of OneSource or similar income tax preparation software, provision software, Hyperion, Microsoft Excel, and SAP.

Basic Requirements:

  • Associate's degree with 7+ years in Accounting of progressive state and/or federal tax experience OR,
  • Bachelor's degree with 5+ years in accounting of progressive state and/or federal tax experience OR,
  • Master's Degree with 3+ years in Accounting of progressive state and/or federal tax experience OR,
  • JD/PhD with Accounting of progressive state and/or federal tax experience
  • Active CPA license
  • In order to be considered for this position, you must be a US Citizen

  • Income tax, federal tax, federal direct tax
  • Experience with public accounting

Hybrid working is a way in which our people can balance their time between the office, home or another remote location.
