Description
The School of Journalism and Strategic Communication invites applications for a full-time, non-tenure-track position of Assistant Lecturer available August 2024. Primary responsibilities include teaching undergraduate courses in the advertising and public relations major including, but not limited to account management, strategy, and branding. The Assistant Lecturer will be expected to maintain a full-time on-campus presence and provide professional service, such as advising student organizations; supporting the unit's recruiting, retention, graduation, and placement efforts; and mentoring students at the McKinley Ave. student agency.
Minimum Qualifications
All degree requirements must be met for a master's degree in advertising, public relations, journalism, mass communications, or a closely related field from an accredited institution by the date of appointment.
Authorization to work in the US Candidates for searches must have current authorization to be employed in the U.S. without employer sponsorship.
Preferred Qualifications
Evidence of teaching effectiveness. Over one year of professional experience in advertising or public relations with working knowledge of account management, account planning, strategy, and branding.

Pre-Employment Screening Requires successful completion of a background check and education verification.
