Job Description

The Krispy Kreme Production Shift Supervisor is a person of high integrity in a working supervisor role and is responsible for ensuring all hourly employees have the knowledge and ability to follow company policies and procedures. The supervisor leads their team in a way that focuses on safety, cost, quality and service expectations, while achieving production goals in a highly efficient manner. As a working supervisor, they will frequently be hands-on supporting the team as needed. The supervisor should be capable of performing all routine tasks assigned to their team.

The Production Supervisor leads, guides, and directs the activities of employees engaged in the production, receiving, and warehouse work areas, executing daily production documentation in line with the production goals, critical check points, metal detectors, lot number tracking for all ingredients and sanitation with operators, packers, receivers, and loadout employees. The supervisor also ensures the safety of workers in the organization by reinforcing standard safety policies for the department and frequently evaluating tasks from a safety standpoint, guiding team members to safe work habits.

What will you do?

  • Krispy Kreme Doughnut Corporation production supervisors must lead by example at all times. This includes unwavering compliance with all Food Safety procedures, OSHA safety best practices, GMP requirements and all company policies.
  • The supervisor trains, develops, and schedules new employees (specific to each plant).
  • Oversees all areas of the plant and ensuring equipment is in optimal condition.
  • Maintaining production records in tablet(digitalized) or paper form.
  • Ensuring quality control guidelines are being followed.
  • The supervisor evaluates the performance of workers and provides support & feedback to Production Manager or General Manager. The supervisor executes the production schedule and work schedule which also includes assigning employees to appropriate positions to optimize productivity, control and reduce cost (labor and material efficiencies) along with other controllable items that impact profitability.
  • Supervisors communicate and follow-up on employee's daily attendance, and overall performance to the Production or General Manager. The supervisor recommends and administers disciplinary corrective actions.
  • Supervisors utilize critical thinking to implement continuous improvement activities such as quality improvements, reducing waste, executing preventive line maintenance reducing unplanned downtime and equipment failures.
  • Increasing productivity, material yields, Line Efficiency, OEE, etc. (using DMA-Doughnut Manufacturing App)
  • A supervisor also monitors the department budget and ensures that resources are allocated properly.
  • Prepare production reports for upper management staff.
  • Management will require reports on issues in the department impacting safety, productivity, costs, quality, or food safety/sanitation goals as necessary.
  • The supervisor must treat all employees with dignity and respect and must always treat all employees fairly and equally.
  • The supervisor should strive to be a continuous learner willing to participate in skills training as requested by management

YOUR RECIPE FOR SUCCESS:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required, degree preferred
  • 3-5 years' experience in a leadership role required
  • Familiarity with food processing or food packaging processes
  • Knowledge of food safety/GMP's or advanced sanitation preferred
  • Intermediate computer skills including MS Word, Excel, & Outlook are required
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
  • Strong work ethic and ability to work as part of a team
