Ball State University welcomes applications for an Environmental Control Mechanic position.

Under supervision, perform service required in the operation and maintenance of heating, ventilating and air conditioning equipment, swimming pools, autoclaves, stills, computerized building climate controls, and related equipment, complying with EPA, OSHA, and all appropriate regulations and codes. Also perform duties electrical in nature all in compliance with all applicable codes and regulations.

1.High School diploma or equivalent (GED).

1.Successful completion of an apprenticeship program in Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning as approved by the Bureau of Apprenticeship and Training and two (2) years of experience in electrical related work; or four (4) years of verified proof of experience in HVAC and two (2) years of verified proof experience in electrical related work; or six (6) years of experience in HVAC; or equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable job knowledge can be acquired as determined by Ball State University.
2.Must be able to read and comprehend all specified policies and procedures for safety, hazardous materials information, University policies, procedures, and communications, and perform mathematical functions.
3.Must possess and maintain a valid Drivers License and be insurable under the university's auto fleet policy.
4.Must be able to perform all mental and physical requirements as outlined in each job duty.
5.You must be 18 years or older.

1.Associate's degree in HVAC.

1. Experience with electronic controls for ventilation systems.
2. Over four (4) years HVAC experience.
3 .Over two (2) years electrical experience.

Perform maintenance and repair work on heating, ventilating, and air conditioning equipment, and report work performed on Preventive Maintenance Forms.
